Kate Beckinsale may have earned her Hollywood stripes long ago, but the actress is still ensuring she takes her movie star glamour to the maximum.
The 38-year-old proved that no matter how busy she is, she knows how to move her style swiftly from day to night, and make it all look effortless.
The British actress dazzled in a sparkling black and gold asymmetric dress in New York City, where she was spotted arriving at The Late Show with David Letterman.

The star topped up her elegant outfit with a pair of black platformed Christian Louboutin heels, and wore her brunette locks cascading in large curls down her back.
She was appearing on the show to promote her new movie Underworld: Awakening, in which she reprises her role as vampire Selene for the fourth time.
And while it may have been Beckinsale's second official appearance of the day, she didn't skimp on the glamour for either event.

She was seen earlier on in the day signing autographs for fans outside her New York hotel. The star was on her way to an interview on the Live! With Kelly show.
And the actress appeared to be harking back to old Hollywood for her style inspiration.

She wore oversized black sunglasses and a gorgeous white coat for the appearance, teaming the outfit with some classic black pumps.
The star recently spoke out about her gratitude for a film project that has forced her out of her comfort zone.
She told the latest issue of Manhattan magazine: 'Underworld forced me out of my head, and I really needed that done.
'Now I can put myself through things I find horrifying and emotional and know I will survive.'
And Kate also said she preferred playing slightly flawed characters.
'I’m not attracted to characters who are instantly likeable, nor am I that interested in making them likeable.

'My goal is to make them real, to find what makes them human and empathetic, to trace a certain logic that explains why a character is how she is.'
However, the star said she believed she had not yet reached her professional peak.
'Really, I'm a late bloomer. My best work is to come.'
