You wouldn't think Colombian pop star Shakira and football ace Wayne Rooney would have anything in common.
But that didn't stop them from enjoying each other's company at the Fifa Ballon d'Or Gala in Switzerland on Monday night.
Rooney seemed to be ecstatic at meeting the singer, who looked exquisite dressed in his Manchester United colour. The Hips Don't Lie hitmaker dressed to impress in the floor-length red gown with jewelled detailing and matching clutch handbag.

Shakira, 34, also had a Marilyn Monroe-esque look about her with her new curled blonde bob.
And even the 26-year-old sportsman looked dapper for the big event, dressing in a black suit with white shirt and black tie.

The pair crossed paths on the red carpet at the Zurich gala, which was being held to honour the footballer who is considered to have performed best in the last season by Fifa heads.
Shakira laughed as she spoke to the Man U player as they seemed to share a joke before heading inside the Kongresshaus venue.
The singer was a guest of honour at the event and was called on stage to reveal the big winner of the night.

After bonding with Rooney, she was also seen joking around with Fifa President, Joseph S. Blatter, on stage in front of the crowd.
And the Colombian star even managed to get a kiss off Brazilian legend Pele during the festivities.
Looking stunning in the frock, the star also posed for pictures with Barcelona's Argentinian striker Lionel Messi after he was announced as the winner of the night.

And she was pleased Messi picked up the crown - because he's a teammate of her boyfriend, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique.
After the event, Shakira took to her Twitter and Facebook pages to post a number of personal images from the night.
In one tender picture she's seen leaning in as her boyfriend kisses her forehead.
She posted the images in an album titled FIFA Ballon d'Or ceremony / Ceremonia entrega Balón de Oro and wrote the message for her online followers: 'More photos on my Facebook - Más fotos en mi Facebook.'
